GORUCK, Official Sponsor of the 2020 CrossFit Games®, Presents Corn Sack Sprint for Final Stage of Games

Jacksonville Beach – The hardest test in CrossFit Games history, the second and final stage of the 2020 CrossFit Games®, will begin this week in Northern California. GORUCK, an official sponsor of the 2020 CrossFit Games®, will challenge the ten remaining athletes - five men and five women - with its sponsored event, the Corn Sack Sprint, which consists of a 320-m hill sprint carrying a weighty (50/30 lb.) corn sack (men/women).

Scheduled for Friday, October 23, the Corn Sack Sprint is the second event of the 2020 CrossFit Games® Finals and was released last week via Instagram. The CrossFit Games begins each year with the CrossFit Open, in which hundreds of thousands athletes worldwide compete for the chance to go to the Games. Athletes also could qualify through a series of regional Sanctional events. Because of safety and travel issues, CrossFit modified the Games format this year, so the competition began with an online first stage for the 30 men and 30 women qualifiers at their home gyms from which the top finishers advanced to the in-person finals in California.

The GORUCK + CrossFit collaboration began in 2019 when GORUCK was asked to be part of the Roque Invitational, a CrossFit sanctioned event, and helped develop a rucking workout with GORUCK’s Special Forces Cadre that challenged both the individual and team competitors on a whole new level. Since then, GORUCK has participated in the 2019 CrossFit Games, the Mayhem Classic and the Luce Hero WOD at Wodapalooza in February 2020.
