GORUCK’s Best Rucker Weekend Recap: An Epic Farewell to a Legendary Brick HQ

GORUCK Nation showed up and showed out for the Best Rucker Weekend at our legendary HQ in sunny Jacksonville Beach, Florida. With around 500 people flowing through the weekend, it was more than just a rucking fest - it was a damn good party with friends old and new. The sand, sweat, and stories were in full supply, reminding us why this community keeps crushing it, event after event.

Here’s what went down:

The Rucking Rundown

We kicked things off with a Vets Town Hall, where we heard from some of our favorite veterans about their time in the military and their transition out. 

We immediately pivoted to kicking off the event weekend with our City Rucks. Participants hit the course hard, whether they were tackling the 50 Miler, 26.2 Miler, 12 Miler, or 15K/10K/5K routes. With each step pounding pavement, dirt, or sand, everyone knew this wasn’t just about the miles - it was about digging deep, testing limits, and rucking shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the toughest and most determined people around.

The Afterparty: Vibes That Kept Going

No great event ends without a celebration, and Best Rucker Weekend was no exception. The weekend was capped with brews, BBQ, and plenty of post-ruck stories. Laughter, camaraderie, and memories of every tough moment filled the air as we said, “Hell yes, this was the Best Rucker” and “Bring on the next challenge.”

A Legendary Send-Off: Farewelling the GORUCK Brick House

Every old-school GRT knows that a building isn’t just a place. The good old GORUCK HQ, our home base and literal brick house, isn’t just four walls. It’s where blood, sweat, and gear have collided for years. It’s where challenges were built, patched up, and sent out into the world.

Over the weekend, as stories were swapped and beverages were flowing, it was impossible not to reflect on how many memories that building holds. From R&D prototypes getting absolutely tested in the field, to GORUCK event participants completing brutal PT sessions, to post-mission beers around the fire pit - it’s been the home of all things GORUCK.

As we close this chapter, we do so knowing we’ve left it all on the ruckin’ field, and then some. There’s no better way to say goodbye than with one helluva ruckin’ party. And GORUCK Nation, you made it unforgettable.
