Our year, their year
"GORUCK Tribe Kids has been a true catalyst for our family. It’s helped us teach healthy habits in a way that actually sticks—movement, consistency, goal-setting, and follow-through—without it feeling forced or preachy. The programming gives kids tangible tools to work toward goals, reflect on effort, and build momentum through small wins. That structure has made it easier for us, as parents, to reinforce those lessons at home and in everyday life. What stands out most is how Tribe Kids normalizes doing hard things. Not for punishment or toughness alone, but as a pathway to confidence and self-trust. Our kids have learned that discomfort isn’t something to avoid—it’s often the doorway to growth. Watching them set goals, struggle a bit, and then accomplish something they didn’t think they could do has been powerful. As both a therapist and a school principal, I see the correlation daily between perseverance and emotional regulation. When kids experience hard things in a supported, intentional environment, they develop resilience, frustration tolerance, and emotional responsiveness. They learn that effort matters, that setbacks aren’t failures, and that they are capable of more than they think. Those experiences directly translate into healthier emotional processing, stronger self-esteem, and better decision-making. GORUCK Tribe Kids doesn’t just build physical strength—it builds emotionally responsive, goal-oriented humans. It aligns seamlessly with what we know in mental health and education: when kids learn to do hard things, they learn to believe in themselves. And that belief carries into every area of their lives."
