RUCKER 4.0 NEW FEATURES
No Interior Zippers aka Weak Points
You bang and throw your Rucker around, and crushed zippers are one of the main reasons we see rucks at Scars. All interior pockets are now VELCRO closure with enormous pull tabs so you can work them even with gloves on, even when it’s cold out.
Improved Interior Padding
We took a lesson from the Ruck Plate Carrier and beefed up the top padding of the interior Ruck Plate Pocket for when it’s time to do bear crawls or burpees and the ruck will naturally slide forward a bit on your back. More padding is a better solution.
Streamlined Front Panel
Gravity + Ruck Plates + Concrete = too many zipper failures. We use the best, burliest YKK Zippers on the planet but they still crush under your loads. We removed the slant pocket to minimize the risk of failure.
Tested & Proven
These aren't air brushed models, these are our friends whooping it on right out back behind HQ. Living the life.
Zero Irritation When Rucking Shirtless
Say goodbye to friction burn. 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA® on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps does NOT cause friction burn on your skin and it plays well with less durable fabrics like merino wool.
Elevated Ruck Plate® Pockets
Both 20L and 25L Rucker feature 2 elevated plate pockets, one that holds 20LB or 30LB (Standard) Ruck Plates and one that holds a 45LB Plate, 20LB (Long), or 30LB (Long). This means your rucker can hold up to 75 lbs of weight.
Ergonomic Lumbar Support
An additional 10mm of EVA foam padding along the bottom section of the back panel supports the natural curve of your back. It’s raised up, protects you from friction from seams on pants, belts or Tough Leggings or anything back there. And if it’s exposed to your skin, that’s no problem either.
Training Sternum Strap (Removable + Adjustable)
Keeps the Rucker® secure without constricting breath or movement and is adjustable by the MOLLE on the straps.
Bottom Drain Holes
2 grommets on the bottom of the ruck to drain water for when you find yourself doing hydro burpees in the ocean, lake, or fountain.
Hip Belt Compatible
Complete with side MOLLE to integrate perfectly with the Padded Hip Belt. A hip belt allows you to distribute heavy loads to your hips over long periods of time (think the GORUCK Challenge or Star Course) plus keeps the ruck stable during Ruck PT.
Developing Rucker 4.0
The problem we’ve run into is happening on our own driveways. After you do your buy-in ruck, then push-ups, it’s time to take your ruck off and do flutter kicks. My friends lack discipline to control their gear (Chris, Matt — looking at you). You slam your Rucker on the concrete, and there’s a Ruck Plate in it. Of course you set it down, front panel first because that’s easier, and it’s concrete. So you have three zippers that will eventually get crushed, over time. Gravity + USA Cast Iron Ruck Plate + Concrete >> we can’t build better zippers to withstand this. Nobody can. Then you grab it again, and push it above your head and do your flutter kicks. With the Rucker 4.0, we’ve kept the main zip because it’s not under threat from the concrete, but we removed those internal zippers so there’s less to go wrong, or to fail. We put enormous pull tabs on the Velcro-closure interior pockets so you can work them even with gloves on, even when it’s cold out.
And we took a lesson from the Ruck Plate Carrier and beefed up the top padding of the interior Ruck Plate Pocket for when it’s time to do bear crawls or burpees and the ruck will naturally slide forward a bit on your back. More padding is a better solution.
We hope you enjoy the comfort this extra padding provides so you can find discomfort in other ways. And we hope the added resilience to your Rucker 4.0 by making it even more of a purpose-built tool keeps you in the fight for all the days, weeks, and months of every year for the rest of your life.
